Maisons Wat Kor - a boutique retreat nestled in Wat Kor Village blending cultural heritage with serene hospitality.
Maisons Wat Kor is a peaceful boutique retreat nestled in Wat Kor Village, less than 2km south of Battambang’s town centre. Established in 2012 by founder Kim Nou, the hotel blends authentic cultural heritage with serene hospitality. This retreat occupies a cluster of traditional Khmer wooden houses built on stilts, surrounded by lush gardens, rice fields, and a central lotus and water-lily pond. The architecture reflects rural Khmer traditions with natural materials, open spaces, and communal design that evoke the spirit of heritage and simplicity
The property offers 15 rooms in total, categorised into Frangipane, Lotus, Lotus PLUS, and Grand Lotus styles. Some are on the ground floor with terraces, others upstairs with balconies and all overlook beautiful greenery, the pond, or the saltwater pool.
The on-site Restaurant-Bar “La Terrasse de Lotus” offers Khmer family-recipe dishes using organic produce from its garden and nearby markets, served in air-conditioned or open-air areas overlooking the lotus pond.
Guests can enjoy a saltwater swimming pool, spa/massage services, library, bicycles for hire, cooking classes, excursions, and a gift shop. The property also emphasises eco-conscious operations including solar heating, organic gardening, waste reduction, and support for local craftsmen and farmers.
This is the hotel’s most distinguished offering in the form of a signature room that’s hosted global dignitaries and celebrities alike. Expect richly carved wooden interiors, vibrant accents in deep reds and oranges, and exquisite Khmer artistry that tells a story. While it delivers the same comfort and amenities as the Grand Lotus rooms in terms of space and modern utilities, it is set apart by its history, atmosphere, and bespoke design.

Each of these upper-floor rooms (one located in the Khmer house and another in the main house) offers its own unique layout and decor. They blend rustic Cambodian charm with modern comforts with high ceilings, warm palettes, and local craftsmanship creating a serene, refined retreat.

These upper-floor rooms offer the same delightful Khmer-inspired design but with more space. With configurations including king or twin beds, each room possesses its own unique personality in terms of colours and decoration. They’re an ideal choice for travellers who want a bit more breathing room while still enjoying a stylish, serene ambience.

Situated on the ground floor in both the Kantaing and Peth houses, these rooms offer flexibility and easy access to communal areas. There are both double and twin configurations, some of which are interconnecting making them perfect for families or small groups. Each boasts a garden-level terrace with views of the pond, pool, or lush garden, and features rich wooden decor with modern comforts.

Also located on the ground floor in the Khmer traditional house, these rooms grant a slightly more spacious or enhanced feel compared to standard Frangipane rooms. Warm Khmer decor, flexible bed setups, and private terraces are all part of the experience making them a great choice for those who want a stylish yet grounded and convenient stay.

Located on the first floor (upper level), each Lotus room is a tranquil hideaway infused with elegant Khmer touches. A king-size bed anchors a cosy space accented by wooden decor and modern amenities, including a balcony overlooking the lotus pond or garden. Despite being in the same category, all Lotus rooms differ in style where one may feature earthy amber tones while another follows a more minimalist palette.
