COMO Maalifushi

This remote natural island offering rustic simplicity, is in an idyllic location for those wanting to truly escape. The Island likes to offer luxury yet keep things natural and the villas are spaciously located around the Island to provide privacy for guests.  The Island team do produce their own fruit and vegetables and work with marine biologists and conservationists to help protect and regenerate the coral.

65 villas make up the inventory of this island, with a combination of beach villas and overwater options.

With large, spacious villas that can easily accommodate families, this is a great island escape. All villas have their own private pools and range from 1 – 4 bedrooms.

• 13 Beach Suites – These offer direct beach access, are spacious with a living area and a private terrace with pool
• 7 Beach Villas – One bedroom options with a private terrace with pool
• 1 Two Bedroom Beach house – This offers a private lawn, large private pool & sundeck
• 1 Two Bedroom Beach Suite – This is similar to the beach suites but with two bedrooms (second bedroom twin beds and a small shower room) so great for families
• 2 Two Bedroom Beach Villas – made up of one King and one twin. They feature access to the beach and their own private plunge pools.
• 1 Maalifushi Beach Villa – This is comprised of 2 double bedrooms, a private lawn, swimming pool, space for al fresco dining and butler service
• 1 Como Residence – This 2 Storey, 4 bedroom residence has a spacious living area, media room and fully equipped kitchen. Outside you can find a large sundeck, with plenty of space for dining. Full butler service is offered.
• 17 Water Suites – These offer a large bedroom with living area, terrace with plunge pool and direct lagoon access
• 13 Water Villas – These all have full length windows and a sundeck with private pool. The bedroom has a separate dressing area and the living area can be comfortably used as an area for children to sleep.
• 1 Maalifushi Water Villa – This 2 bedroom bungalow, secluded on its on private jetty has its own sundeck and private pool.
• 2 Como Villas – These offer 2 large bedrooms, sitting over the lagoon, with their own private pool and butler service.

The resort has 3 different restaurants which all offer different theme nights:

• Madi Restaurant features International cuisine, local Maldivian dishes & Como Shambhala Kitchen food which focuses around natural flavours and healthy eating
• The open air-pool bar Thila has a laid-back vibe, with ocean views offers pizzas, seafoods and salads
• Tai features Japanese cuisine and cocktails with a fantastic sunset ocean view setting

In room dining is available 24 hours a day

Facilities:

Como Shambhala Retreat is set over the water and offers 8 treatment rooms where guests can enjoy Asian inspired treatments while enjoying the peace and tranquility that the Indian Ocean has to offer.

The resort offers complimentary daily yoga and has a paddle court, swimming pool and fully equipped gym. 

Activities:

Because of this islands extremely remote location, along with its own thriving house reef, it is a divers paradise, with over 35 dive sites around the area. Whale sharks can be seen locally, with just 7 guests visiting the area at any one time, so as not to overcrowd the area.

The island has a fabulous dive and watersports centre, offering non-motorised watersports such as surfing, snorkelling and sailing.

Sunset Cruises and Dolphin cruises are popular with guests as are fishing trips.
