Tiger Reserve
Located Uttar Pradesh, Dudhwa Tiger Reserve was created in 1977 and covers around 1,284 square kilometres! The reserve is known for it’s Bengal tigers, Indian rhinoceros, and barasingha (swamp deer). The reserve features forests, grasslands, and rivers Dudhwa also offers a more remote, less commercialised wildlife experience.

The Katarniaghat Forests provide strategic connectivity between tiger habitats of Dudhwa and Kishanpur in India and the Bardia National Park in Nepal. The forest is largely untouched, away from civilisation and quiet. The people who live within the forest are largely native tribals. The Gairwa river which flows in the sanctuary area is declared as a sanctuary for Mugger and Gharial. It is also among the few places in India where fresh water dolphins, also known as Gangetic dolphins, are found in their natural habitat.

Located some 30 kms from Dudhwa National Park and separated by an area of agricultural land, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 203 sq kms. An enviable 450 resident and migratory bird species visit Jhadi Tal, the premier waterbody of the Kishanpur sanctuary. The red-crested pochard, mallard, dabchick, grebe, common pochard, pintail, shoveller, river tern, the white-eyed pochard, spoonbill, egret, snakebird, heron, black-necked stork and many other avian species frequent the tal.
