Alwar

Alwar is actually a city in northern Rajasthan. However, it lies relatively undiscovered to tourism on the road between Jaipur and Delhi. This image is of Moosi Maharani Chhatri a memorial to a former maharaja. Other highlights include the City Palace and Bala Qila fort.
Bishnoi Villages

The arid country side south of Jodhpur is dotted with villages, the mud and thatch huts inhabited by the 450 year old Bishnoi tribe with its distinctive way of life. The villagers practice many traditional crafts including pottery and weaving (using cotton or camel hair).They are environmentalists in the fundamental sense, preserving the wildlife in scientific and logical routines evolved over the centuries of living with nature.
Dausa

Situated away from the bustling cities, the town of Dausa offers an authentic rural experience in Rajasthan. Dausa is a small ancient town named after a Sanskrit word Dhau-sa meaning Beautiful like Heaven. Located around 55 km from Jaipur, it has many ancient buildings including the above image of the magnificent Chand Baori Stepwell a few miles from the city, on the road to Agra.

Nimaj is a 120Km drive from Jodhpur and an idea place to experience not only typical village and farming life, but also pristine wetlands, scrub forests and grasslands, making the area a haven for birds. Leopards are also often spotted in the areas basking on rocks.
