There are 18 bedrooms and suites that suites elegantly combine the charm of an 18th-century manor house with striking modern elements. Luxurious linens adorn the four-poster beds, which are positioned to overlook the gardens, while vintage phones and bold prints give the rooms a retro luxury bungalow feel, reminiscent of Negombo.
The welcoming open-air restaurant and bar offer delectable à la carte dishes, featuring both international and Sri Lankan cuisine, served at tables with views of the gardens. Their creative menus highlight the best local ingredients, with many fruits, vegetables, and herbs harvested fresh from our own garden each day.
There are many in house and offsite activities to do whilst staying at Wallawwa. There is an option to partake in the eye-opening experience of a traditional Sri Lankan cookery class. Negombo is an excellent starting point, where you can explore the town’s Catholic churches, Dutch fort, and bustling fish markets on foot with a local guide. The expansive lagoon and the intricate network of old Dutch canals are best explored by boat or kayak. Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, offers upscale shopping, dining, and contemporary art galleries. One of the best ways to experience this vibrant city is on foot, with a knowledgeable guide taking you through the fort area and the lively Pettah bazaar district.
This is the smallest room at the hotel but boasts a calming space with a king-sized four-poster bed to ensure a great night sleep. The rooms have direct access to the garden and have ensuite bathrooms with rain showers.
