Temples
We know Bali is the most recognised island for temples, but Java has an excellent selection of unique temples to offer. There are both Hindu and Buddhist temples and of course Java is home to Borobudur the world’s largest Buddhist temple which is a truly amazing location that must be viewed especially at sunrise. Java is also home to Candi Prambanan a world famous UNESCO World Heritage site.

Borobudur is located in Central Java and is the worlds largest Buddhist temple. The best time to visit Borobudur is early in the morning. Climb up to the temple of Borobudur and on to the top of Arupadhatu. Enjoy the sunrise with a beautiful view.
Sewu temple Complex

This 8th century Buddhist temple complex is the second largest in Java. It is in Central Java. The complex is in a mandala design. Work has begun to restore damaged areas in the temple.
Candi Prambanan

This stunning 9th century Hindu temple is located in central Java near Yogyakarta, you can walk around the beautiful UNESCO world heritage site and enjoy its beauty.
