Kelimutu Crater Lakes Ecolodge

Kelimutu Crater Lakes Ecolodge is powered by solar energy and is set in valley beside a burbling river with excellent views of Kelimutu, near the village of Moni in Eastern Flores.

This lodge is an Eco lodge, attempting to protect the environment by various means. All water is recycled through 3 water –garden systems to prevent pollution of the river and to irrigate the garden. The bathrooms are supplied with either solar hot water or gas water heaters, where it is too shaded for solar. Water is pumped from the river to a settling tank, then up the hill, by electricity. Drinking water comes from a UV purifier.
Guests can visit the village of Moni with its traditional Chief’s house, only a 15 minute walk away. The lodge is a great base for bird watching, hiking, and visiting local weavers.

Food is served 3 times daily and pack lunches can be made for those going out on excursions. Meals are served in an open air dining area with a relaxed environment giving you a chance to meet other travellers.

The local area offers walks to traditional villages, waterfalls, hot springs, bird watching and cultural experiences.
