Thekkady
Thekkady is located in the south east of Kerala, virtually on the border with the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. It is best known for it’s spices and nature reserve at nearby Periyar.
We can arrange for a tour of a local spice plantation where you will see spices such as cardamom, pepper and vanilla being grown. The town of Kumily has numerous shops selling the locally grown spices at a fraction of the UK cost.

Periyar Tiger Reserve

↑
Kerala’s oldest & largest protected wildlife area. We recommend a full day excursion to the park. In the morning a park ranger will escort you on a gentle trek looking out for elephant, wild boar, monkeys & the elusive tiger! In the afternoon, head out into the lake where you will have the perfect opportunity to view the animals by the water’s edge. The scenery is wonderful & you will see a lot of wildlife – but don’t expect to see any tigers.
