Other Temples of Angkor

Beyond the main sights in the Angkor Thom complex, Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, there are many more temples within easy reach of Siem Reap that are well worth exploring. These include the Buddhist-Hindu fusion temple of Preah Khan and the ornate water temple of Preak Neak Poan. There is also Sra Srang, a massive royal bathing lake best seen at sunrise or sunset. Further away, is Banteay Srei, begun in AD967, it is one of the smallest sites in Angkor but its carvings are wonderfully well preserved.
