The Island House

The Island House is unique among Bahamian resorts since it was created as a symbiotic extension of the natural environment, with both tourists and the local population in mind. 30 rooms and suites, six rental apartments, a private beach, two restaurants, a cafe, a market, an art house movie theatre, a lap pool, a movement studio, squash courts, a TERN art gallery, and a Bamford Spa are all aspects of the resort.

There is a nice range of rooms and suites available at The Island House to choose from for your stay, from Queen Rooms to Apartments. 

• Queen Room: These plush, contemporary style rooms feature sweeping views of the Lyford Cay Marina and extend onto a generous private terrace. Ideal for up to four guests with there being two queen beds, there is also a private bathroom with a rain shower and bathtub. 
• King Room: Elegantly understated, these rooms are designed for refined comfort for two with a king-sized bed. Each includes a private terrace with day bed and lounge seating so you can enjoy sunrises and sunsets. Unwind in the luxurious bathroom which features a rain shower, bathtub and Bamford spa products. 
• Junior Suite: Offering lush poolside views and a sense of secluded indulgence, the Junior Suite features a comfortable bed and space for two guests, a spacious bathroom with either a rainfall shower or bathtub, and a private outdoor porch with a hanging lounge chair to enjoy the surrounding views. 
• Suite: Elevate your stay with luxury in this suite, with a hidden outdoor shower, private terrace with poolside views, and two bathrooms (one with a rain shower and bathtub, the other with a shower). This suite comfortably accommodates four guests. 
• Cottage: Imagine your own tranquil hideaway: a spacious poolside cottage featuring your own private porch with dining table and swinging furniture to help you relax and unwind. The Cottage features two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms and there is also a hidden outdoor shower so you can shower beneath the stars. Suitable for up to six guests.  
• Two Bed Apartment: Four persons can comfortably sleep in the fully equipped two-bedroom apartments. With breathtaking views of the island of New Providence and unique Bahamian greenery, this apartment provides the ideal getaway for you and your loved ones. Offering two double bedrooms, a kitchen, and private balcony you are bound to relax and enjoy your stay.
• Three Bed Apartment: Experience island living in this 3-bed, 3-bath apartment. Suitable for 6 guests in total, this expansive apartment gives you plenty of space to enjoy your stay with spectacular views, an open-plan kitchen with living and dining areas spilling out onto your own private terrace.

Shima: Situated on the top floor of The Island House, Shima is a refined yet relaxed open-air restaurant offering vibrant Southeastern Asian cuisine. 

Mogano by Giorgio Locatelli: Highlighting exquisite pasta dishes, seasonal mains, locally sourced ingredients, and artisanal wines. 

Yellowbell: Serves breakfast and lunch in a casual, vibrant setting. It specialises in freshly baked pastries, bagels, and a full range of coffee offerings. Yellowbell then transforms into a craft cocktail lounge serving bespoke drinks each evening. 

The Market: Each dining venue boasts thoughtfully curated wine lists, and there is also The Market which is open daily where you have the opportunity to taste and purchase world-renowned wines.

• Private beach: The Island House has its own private and secluded beach, accessible via a dedicated beach shuttle.

Highbourne Cay: A private island in the Exuma Cays affiliated with The Island House. It’s 35 miles southeast of New Providence and offers an idyllic escape with eight private beaches.  

Stuart Cove’s (Snorkel and Scuba): A short drive from The Island House, Stuart Cove offers renowned full-service diving and snorkeling excursions. 

Primeval National Park: A short distance from The Island House, this is a protected Bahamas National Trust reserve that offers an almost untouched old-growth tropical hardwood forest.

Big Major Cay Swimming Pigs: No trip to the Bahamas is complete without visiting Big Major Cay, home of the famous swimming pigs.
