Komodo
Komodo is the largest Island in the Komodo National Park. It is of course home to the world famous komodo dragon. It is a great location for exploring with its pink sand beaches, hilly landscape and abundance of wildlife. Komodo is also recognised as a great diving and snorkeling destination with the chance to see Manta Ray. The island is a great stop over when visiting larger islands near by.

The Komodo Dragon is an impressive animal measuring up to 3m in length. They are omnivorous and their bite can inflict an infectiont hat will eventually kill their pray. Komodo take on large food sources such as deer, this ensures they only need to eat once a month. During the day they are are very lethargic, at night they are more active.
Padar Island Hike

Padar Island is a small Island within Komodo National park that offers short walks with stunning views, you can see beaches in every direstion and it really is one viewpoint you will always remember.
Pink Beach

The pink beach colour is caused by microscopic organisms in coral named Foraminifera. A lot of the beaches in Komodo are pink however the best one is on the east coast. This beach is not just great for taking pictures and sunbathing it is also excellent for snorkeling.
Snorkeling and diving

Most dive sites are drift dives and are better suited to experienced divers. The best diving conditions are March to October, however if you want to see Manta Ray the best time to go is December to February. January to March offers the best visibility, but the water is quite choppy. Snorkeling is available all over the island and is excellent.
