A wonderfully restored property oozing with character and history, located in a secluded area of Fort Kochi. The property was acquired from Brooke Bond in 2010 and renovated into a beautifully designed colonial style hotel – the Tea Bungalow.
It is positioned on TM Muhammad Road, which is a 12 minute walk to the Chinese Fishing Nets.
The 10 rooms are named after ports in the Indian Ocean that were involved in the spice and tea trade – such as Kochi, Zanzibar, Galle, Mombasa, Muscat, Malacca, Mauritius, Cambay, Goa and Calicut. The rooms are large, bright and elegantly furnished with design touches reflecting the port of the name given.
The garden and pool area are the perfect place to chill and reflect on the sites you have experienced on your Kochi explorations. At night the cleverly lit garden is transformed into a magical relaxing and dining space.
Café du Mahe the restaurant, serves Indian, Kerala and Continental cuisine – with seating inside overlooking the garden and outside near the pool. The Travancore Lounge is a place for residents to relax with a well stocked library and TV for those who want to catch up on world news.
