We love the undeveloped beaches in northern Kerala and this property is an absolute gem. Chera Rocks borders a long, magnificent sandy beach fringed by a thick belt of lush palm trees. It is absolutely idyllic. You won’t find throngs of tourists here, just the local fishermen returning with their catch in the early morning. Accommodation is functional, clean but basic. There are two Standard Rooms adjoining the owner’s house which is in a slightly elevated position. Our recommendation is to go with one of the four Superior Rooms which are beach side and more spacious – two of the rooms have air conditioning. There is a nice veranda to sit out and hammocks for lounging. The home cooked food is very good and can be served by the beach. There is no direct access for vehicles to the property; it is a 5 minute walk down a rough track from where the car drops you off. Your luggage will be taken by staff from Chera Rocks, so no need to worry about carrying heavy cases. If you are looking for a quiet, simple, relaxing beach stay after your tour, this is the perfect place.
