Nestled in the vicinity of the clear and still Bal Samand Lake, around 5 km from Jodhpur centre, the WelcomHeritage Bal Samand Lake Palace is built in red sandstone. Built in the 17th century and portraying a typical ornate Rajput architectural style, the palace was once a summer residence of Maharajas of Jodhpur. The sprawling orchards of pomegranate and lime and landscaped gardens interwoven by elegant waterways give the palace a unique charm.
Rooms consist of 1 Maharani suite, 9 regal suites in the main palace building. All are decorated in heritage style with carved dark wood and traditional Indian fabrics, whilst equipped with modern amenities. The 26 garden rooms in the Bal Samand Garden Retreat have a different aura altogether with their own Rose Gardens, Croquet Lawn and Restaurant.
Dining here is a gastronomical delight with the choice of venue options. Savour delectable dishes at the Garden Restaurant, enjoy a tasty BBQ at the Kebab Corner or enjoy the views whilst dining at the Lake View Restaurant. Head towards the Bar Lounge to choose from a fine collection of the beverages. Themed dinners are available on request for those who wish for something extra special.
The expansive 60 acre private estate include a magnificent palatial, marble swimming pool surrounded by a sandstone pergola, an ideal location for some relaxing time after a busy day of sightseeing. The gardens are perfect for a stroll - you will no doubt meet with a few peacocks along the way.
Bal Samand Lake Palace offers a traditional Rajasthani stay in a comfortable heritage property in beautiful grounds, yet within easy commuting distance to the centre of Jodhpur.
